Harbour Island, this tiny island 3.5×1.5 miles is located less than a mile east of the North Eleuthera. Takes about 5-8 minutes on a ferry (small transportation boat) to reach there at a a cost of $5.00. Arriving at the dock there were locals haggling to help with luggage or transport to your location. As I had a ride already I had the time to observe them. The weather was really nice this morning the ride over was smooth and the sun was warm. The dock was lined with golf carts which is the main form of transportation on the island. My ride soon arrived and we were off through the narrow streets. After working most of the day I finally had time to relax in the evening. My host, as apart of our agreement, took me out for dinner. Well it was a really good night I must say. We went to Romora Bay for appetizers and to listen and enjoy the music of an famous group known as the brilanders. We later went for dinner at Runnaway Hill

The next day brought a little work in the morning until about 12 and then it was a brief island tour riding around in a golf cart. The island is pretty small it doesn take long to drive around it at all. The resorts however are quite nice, top of the line luxury. It seemed as if only visitors would dine at certain places but rarely at the resorts. On Bay street near the water are a string of little local restaurants with local food being served. It is called Fisherman Dock, I decided on a conch salad from one of the vendors which took about 10 minutes to make as there was a wait. I was told that was a short wait but it was well worth it. Not many of the buildings or homes were as colorful as I thought they would be. There seemed to be more business ran by foreigners than by the locals but they seem to get allong very well. The pink sand beach was spectacular as expected and the entire island is quaint however its better in small doses. Be prepared to spend money as it is not a cheap island to visit although you can make it quite well with short visits.
